"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures that we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open." Quote by Jawoharial Nehra

Welcome to our home page. You'll find us driving around in our well marked truck in Carlsbad, located in beautiful San Diego County. Our guided adventures are designed with all levels of fitness in mind...easy to challenging...so that everyone has an opportunity to experience an adventure. Your success and enjoyment are our mission.

We offer half-day, full-day, and also multi-day hike, and kayak trips (all full day adventures include lunch; half-day may include snack). Backpack trips will see you venturing out for 2 to 14 days. These trips include the awesome sights of the Grand Canyon, the San Jacinto, San Bernardino, Cuyamaca and Laguna Mountains, and the High Sierras in Central California. Trips are offered during the spring, summer, fall, and winter. You may choose to kayak in the lagoon, through the harbor, in the open ocean or surf kayaking. Also, expand your horizons with a trek to parts unknown. Hiking, and kayaking adventures may be taken as a single event or combined.

Fitness Levels: We cater to all levels of fitness, beginning through advance; for example, relatively flat adventures to challengingly steep adventures. Level 1 These trips can be enjoyed by almost everyone. If you regularly participate in some type of physical exercise at work or play, then these trips are for you. Level 2 Almost everyone can enjoy a level 2 trip if they are physically active in life. These trips may include some hills, distance of up to 10 miles (depends on activity, i.e. bike, hike, kayak), and possible of carrying or lifting of gear and/or equipment. Level 3 A consistent exercise program is mandatory, along with good physical conditioning. All aspects of the adventure are greater than those of Level 2. You may find yourself going as much as 20 miles on a hike, or climbing 10 to 20 degree inclines, with elevation gains and losses in excess of 1,000 feet. You may also be carrying and/or lifting more than 25 or 30 pounds.

All our guides are highly qualified to serve your needs and answer your questions. We are all trained in CPR and first aid. Needless to say we love the outdoors and are enthusiastic and ready to make your experience one to remember.

We offer transportation to and from many of Carlsbad's hotels for an additional charge. Backpacking trips require attendance at a pre-trip meeting to discuss itinerary, gear (sample gear list ), packing your gear, transportation, food, and more. Please do not bring valuables on any outings. We cannot be responsible if they are lost or stolen.

Gratuities for your guides are welcome. The industry standard is 15-20%.

Cancellation Policy: For multi-day trips, if you need to cancel, 75% of deposits will be returned 60 days prior to your trip, 50% 30 or more days prior to your trip, and 25% two weeks or more before your trip. In order to receive a return of your deposit for one day or less trips, you must give a 72-hour notice of cancellation, either by fax, e-mail, or telephone. Guided Adventures In Nature may find it necessary to cancel trips due to weather conditions or other acts of God. In such cases, the above policy applies, but you may also use your money towards a a future trip as your schedule allows. This policy is then good for one year from the date your trip had to be rescheduled.
